I’m Katie, the founder of Florida Gift Baskets. It all started with “Oh Bows,” which turned into “Orlando Gift Baskets,” and eventually became “Florida Gift Baskets.”

People often ask how I got started in such a unique industry. It goes back to a snow day during a college internship in Pennsylvania. I quickly realized I wasn’t cut out for being an adult through Pennsylvania winters. After graduating from Kutztown University, I headed to sunny Orlando for an internship at Disney World. I eventually found my calling in the floral and gift basket department, becoming a “Basketeer.”

I loved creating Disney magic through floral and gift baskets, but working for such a huge company felt a bit impersonal. Inspired by Walt Disney’s quotes like, “If you can dream it, you can do it” and “Whatever you do, do it well,” I decided to follow my own dream. In 2010, I started my gift basket business in my tiny apartment. From there, I moved to a bigger apartment, then a house, and finally, in 2018, opened a brick-and-mortar store.

I still visit Pennsylvania, but my heart truly belongs to Florida. Thanks for being part of my journey.

First and foremost, we’ve had the joy of helping Floridians share the love of our sunny state with friends, family, colleagues, and clients across the nation. We absolutely adore the creative messages our customers come up with, like “Sending you some sun! Hope to put a dent in the damage [from the blizzard]” or one of our most memorable “Our calculations suggest that the Key West trip was conception! Looking forward to meeting Baby Bowers!”

Beyond our wonderful Florida friends, we’ve been serving conventions throughout the state for the past 15 years. We’ve teamed up with local businesses to create unforgettable gifts for their clients and employees. And let’s not forget the busy brides we’ve assisted in crafting custom welcome gifts for their guests. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re thrilled to keep spreading the sunshine!
